About EIK

Founded in 2017 to fill a gap in the market for personalised, direct assistance for teachers, Education Is Key is your one-stop shop for all aspects of secondary school education support.

In response to demand from teachers and school staff, Education Is Key expanded our offering from resources and assessments, to include auspicing for VET courses, in-person short courses delivered by industry professionals, exam revision sessions and upskill programs for teachers.

Education Is Key is headed up by Julie Armstrong, a leading food and health education professional with decades of experience in both teaching and the hospitality industry. Alongside Julie, we are lucky to work with a team of highly accomplished specialist teachers and support staff who are equally as passionate and dedicated to providing the best education possible for students. After a successful few years focusing on Victorian VCE requirements, Education Is Key can now provide the same great service nationwide, suitable for the education standards of all states.

Julie Armstrong

Drawing on a career spanning many years in the hospitality industry, Julie entered the teaching profession to focus on sharing her knowledge and passion for food, healthy eating and wellbeing. In 2017, in response to huge demand from her network of teachers to assist with study design, Julie founded Education Is Key - and the company has continued to grow ever since.

In 2020, Julie spent the majority of the year teaching remotely in the Northern Territory to expand her knowledge of Indigenous foods and gain awareness of the unique needs and social circumstances of remote communities. Julie works across a variety of food and health contexts to ensure that her offering remains current, and that Education Is Key resources are representative of the most up-to-date practices and technologies. As a leader of the Food Teachers Network, Julie provides a positive role model to those wishing to provide the highest standard of teaching to their students, and for students themselves to learn to the very best of their ability and achieve the highest academic standards.
